My College Magazine Evaluation 

• My cover for my college magazine has a clear masthead from the size font i used as i used a larger font for it and slower fonts under the masthead. The cover also has a clear headlines and other stories. The text is all clear and easy to read. Also on the contents page there is a clear larger masthead and smaller writing for the stories in the magazine.
• On the front cover and contents page i have stuck to three colours i have used black and two different shades of blue. 
• The photographs used on my front cover and contents page are appropriate and clear as one picture is the outside of the college and another of a student, which is a medium close up what we needed. Also the pictures on the contents page are pictures from around the college.
• The stories on my front page and contents page are all to do with the college so they are relevant for the magazine, they are what the students would like to know about, we no this because of the interviews with some students from the college
• The Contents page and the front cover go by the same colour scheme so people would know they are from the same magazine.

Improvements

• The improvements i would like to make to my magazine is to my contents page, i would like to make is more appealing to the target audience my changing the layout and maybe add more pictures to it. 
• I would also like to add more stories to the magazine, to do this i would have to interview more students to find out what they would like to know.

This is my magazine after one lesson
in this lesson I went around the college taking all my pictures and begun to start my front cover of the magazine.

Research & Planning; Interviews

 We Interviewed different people from the college to help us chose what to put into our magazine, to make it appeal to the audience.
We asked how much they would pay for a college magazine, we found out that they would pay between £1 and £1:50 for the college magazine.
We also asked what they would like to read about, in general they said they would like to read about events and gossip within the college.
We asked what they would like to be on the front cover to make it appeal to them, they said bright colours and pictures of happy people on the front. We also asked them about there favourite colour, there favourtie colours include red, green and purple which means bright colours.

We had to analysis a college magazine, 
I can tell this is a magazine because of it features, such as:

• Slugline
• Barcode
• Price
• A main picture
• Headings and subheadings
• Masthead
• Stories

I can tell this is a college magazine as the man on the picture is carrying college books as well as wearing trendy up to date clothes.

The magazine has its own colour scheme usually of about 3 colours, this magazine has a colour scheme of white, green and pink. The use of these colours make the magazine look professional and will encourage more people to buy it.

Planning & Research Photoshop Challenge

- I opened up photoshop, opened a new document and set the document to A4
- I then wrote 'AS Media Studies' in century gothic, size 24, using the text tool
- I then changed the text to red and used the arrow tool to move the text to the centre of the page
- I coloured the background blue
- I edited the text so that it had a drop shadow
- I then found a picture of a women on the internet and placed it on this document, i changed her hair colour from blonde to brown using the brush tool
- I then added a red square border around the picture i had added to the document

I learnt how to edit a photo/face onto a film poster, i learnt how to take, put on the computer, cut and add a photo to the film poster and edit it into a place of a character of that film, to make my photo look like it is apart of that film.

1) How to us smart blur to edit her skin
2) How to use the spot healing tool to hide her blemishes
3) How to use different layers to make the photo more real
4) How to use the brush tool, to change her hair colour, eyelashes, blusher, lipstick and eye make up
